Seth Miller on Consciousness Studies

These days, many forms of spiritual training are readily available--but what is not so prevalent, and what is sorely lacking in most spiritual groups, is training in HOW to train oneself in a spiritual way. Consciousness Studies explicitly addresses this, and in fact it is an underlying theme throughout the entire program--the students are trained to be their own teachers, so that when they leave, they find they have practical tools which can be applied in a wide variety of situations by bringing a different kind of awareness and focus to subtleties that normally would remain unconscious. Also, although not an explicit block, the ideas of health and pathology are continually explored from multiple perspectives, allowing the course to remain very relevant to student's lives.

Perhaps the most important facet of the program, however, lies in first, the training which fosters in the student a feeling of the intentionality and coherent interconnectedness of the universe, and second, the ability to explore these feelings in an objective way by presenting an archetype of process which helps guide the student in exact ways towards a deeper understanding of what spiritual research can be.
